The Finance Manager will be an incredibly varied and pivotal role in a fast paced environment for an ambitious local business in the Fashion & Retail sector with growth plans for the future.

Client Details

The client is a dynamic and fast paced local Fashion & Retail business looking to grow the business following a number of years with continuous growth. With a diverse business base as well as taking on a number of exciting contracts with brand names they expect to grow further and are looking to invest in the finance team ahead of this. Based in Luton, they are easily commutable for anyone in the local area or anyone located in Luton, Milton Keynes, Bedford or the surrounding area.


The Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager role will include:

  • Taking ownership of the Purchase and Sales Ledger functions
  • Processing invoices and raising PO's
  • Entering supplier orders in to the accounting software (KashFlow)
  • Reconciling supplier statements and multiple bank accounts
  • Maintaining petty cash balance and cash flow
  • Maintaining Company Asset logs
  • Reviewing month accounts and rectifying any errors
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns for authorisation
  • Sharing information with Production Director on all current stock levels and then assigning them to relevant projects
  • An ability to deal with high volume and implement new processes
  • Enter onto account software time sheets for all sub-contractors and preparing for payment run
  • Support month end and year end close processes
  • Supporting internal and external audits to meet compliance
  • Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all relevant accounting tasks
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the Managing Director


The successful candidate for the Finance Manager role will have:

  • Proven previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping systems and processes
  • Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT Qualified or IAB/ICB
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, namely Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables)
  • Previous experience with a variety of accounting systems like SAGE or KashFlow
  • Understanding of working with inter company accounts and multi-currency
  • Strong attention to detail is essential within the role
  • Effective communication and an ability to deal with queries
  • Ability to problem solve and improve processes
  • Driven and Personable candidate with a concientious approach
  • Well presented and professional
