This is an opportunity for the right tax professional to develop their career working with Scotland’s best private markets tax team within our Business Tax group. This is a rare opportunity to fulfil a personal tax advisory role supporting our highly rated team. You will have the opportunity to develop your experience and knowledge advising our diverse client base on their complex tax affairs. We are a true advisory practice, and aim to work in partnership with our clients to deliver high quality, high impact advice.
Role description Deloitte's Private Client tax team are recognised as a market leader in this area and our team is multi-disciplinary, focussed on proactively delivering the very best advice to our clients, with whom we seek to build deep and lasting relationships.  You will be part of a transactions team working with complex and high value entrepreneurial clients as well as advising our high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
We take individual development very seriously and as well as the opportunity to work on a range of diverse and challenging clients with direct interaction with senior members of the team, you will also receive continuous on the job training. Our performance management process is structured, transparent and interactive, ensuring you receive ongoing supportive feedback to help you achieve your goals.
Location This role is based out of our Aberdeen office
Responsibilities
  • Providing support to the senior team to implement comprehensive tax structuring advice to entrepreneurial clients and corporate management teams to guide them through structuring and transaction processes;
  • Using your knowledge of your clients to help bring tax advisory solutions â€" taking a leading role in delivering these advisory projects or managing input from specialist teams as required;
  • Working in a team to provide tax advice to high net worth individuals in relation to their personal tax affairs, often dealing with complex international wealth structures including trusts and companies
  • Acting as the main contact for your client portfolio â€" building deep trusted client relationships and being responsible for quality, delivery and all aspects of client service on the engagement;
  • Working with our offshore and nearshore teams to plan and deliver the entire tax compliance and/or reporting process;
  • Developing an understanding our your clients’ tax data and technologies, and building your experience of our tax management consulting advisory services, to identify and help deliver improvements to your clients’ tax compliance and reporting processes, technologies and governance; and
  • Mentoring more junior members of the team, playing an active role in their development;
Requirements The right candidate should have strong interpersonal and project management skills. Tax experience is essential and personal tax advisory experience is preferred. The role will have limited compliance responsibilities. The role will be a great fit for someone committed to developing their career quickly and someone who wants to work with the best and most challenging client work available in the market.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial flair through strong communication skills
  • Good understanding of relevant tax legislation, being qualified CA/ACA/CTA or equivalent qualification or experience

  • Strong client engagement experience
