The Head of Finance will be responsible for managing and supporting a finance team during a period of change. This will involve elements of 'business as usual' supporting the team followed by supporting through closing accounts and audit.

My client is a local council based in Oxfordshire seeking an experienced Head of Finance to support during a period of significant change.

Description

The Head of Finance will be responsible for stepping into the council and steadying the ship during a unique period of change. This will include being a trusted adviser within finance and able to reassure and oversee all team members. Technical capability is essential as this position will be overseeing the year end closure and audit.

Profile

The successful Head of Finance:

- Experience leading a finance team in a local authority

- Open, approachable and empathetic

- Experience dealing with stakeholders in a local authority

- Demonstratable experience of overseeing closure of accounts

Job Offer

For the successful Head of Finance there is a daily rate of circa £500 per day, office located in Oxfordshire and a longer term temporary position (with potential for a permanent opportunity further down the line).
