The BMC Business Leader is responsible for the overall Brand, Marketing & Communications strategy for their respective Service Line (SL), Segment or Sector. They are the primary contact for their SL/Sector/Segment business stakeholders for all BMC related activity, they own the relationship and are an integral part of their respective areas Leadership team. They are accountable for defining the strategy, the delivery of campaigns and initiatives to meet SL/Sector/Segment strategic objectives and for ensuring these are managed on time and within budget.

Essential Functions of the Job:

The BMC Business Leader is accountable for delivering the following:
  • The overarching BMC strategy and plan for the sector, segment, SL, RD programme - working collaboratively and proactively with the Lead partner to define this
  • Identifying synergies with their areas across the GTM (Go-To-Market) function to enhance the client experience, strengthen client relationships and facilitate sales
  • Bringing relevant insights to improve growth and brand impact - understanding the competition, key client issues and market drivers as well as the political and regulatory landscape in which EY operates
  • Keeping abreast of new marketing and comms tools and techniques to ensure that we are cutting through the noise and differentiating EY
  • Creating and driving campaigns and actions derived from the strategy, they are responsible for the campaign brief and working with the Campaign Manager to execute and with the business to implement
  • Working closely with the comms team to develop and implement integrated communication programmes across external and internal channels
  • Advising leaders on questions relating to all BMC functions and services, e.g. specific flagship programs
  • Effective use of project budgets and resources including prioritization

Furthermore, the BMC Business Leaders are responsible for:
  • Working proactively, collaboratively and effectively, with BD and Global BMC to deliver on EY and BMC strategic priorities
  • Increasing internal and external awareness of respective programs/initiatives, where that helps to drive the firm's commercial objectives
  • Owning senior stakeholder relationships in their Sector, Segment or SL
  • Engaging the SL/sector/segment community in which they operate
  • Support and encourage innovation and the adoption of best practice
  • Working together with other BMC Business Leaders in exchanging best practices
  • Reports monthly on progress against plan and ROI; providing measurement and metrics for specific campaigns
  • Budgetary and financial management responsibility
  • As part of Go to Market Leadership team, playing a key role in defining and shaping the growth agenda.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Experienced marketing and comms professional with a proven track record in developing marketing and comms strategies and managing high profile, successful campaigns
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and able to demonstrate that they have operated as a 'trusted advisor' to the business
  • Confidence to challenge and influence key decision makers to ensure the right outcomes for the business
  • Able to work within a matrix structure - balancing the needs of the service line against firm wide marketing initiatives and goals and the firm's communications strategy
  • Inspires trust and confidence in terms of ability to provide advice and guidance, manage expectations and provide sound judgement
  • Extensive b2b experience in a large, matrix organization (10+ years)
  • Strong technical marketing and comms knowledge (i.e. good understanding of digital, social media etc) and ability to apply this knowledge in the design and delivery of successful campaigns
  • Able to demonstrate a commercial approach and knowledge of broader marketing and comms trends and insights
  • Strong people management skills, able to communicate the strategy and motivate and engage people to deliver to high performance standards
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Understanding of the professional services environment
  • L imited direct line management responsibilities but has indirect responsibility on the resources that work on their programmes
Job Requirements:
  • A degree or equivalent work experience
  • Significant experience in marketing or communications management in a corporate environment
  • Experience in professional services industry, preferred (as above)
