Reporting to one of the partners, you will drive all aspects of financial functions for the start-up.
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
  • Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning
  • Develop financial and tax strategies
  • Develop performance measures that support the Company's strategic direction
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Manage the accounting, human resources, legal, tax, and treasury departments
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
  • Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
  • Oversee the Company's transaction processing systems
  • Implement operational best practices
  • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
  • Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the Company's risk profile
  • Monitor all open legal issues involving the Company, and legal issues affecting the industry
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  • Ensure that the Company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Arrange for debt and equity financing where necessary, including maintaining banking relationships and liaising with investment bankers and potential investors

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Accountancy or Finance with ACCA, CA, CPA or relevant professional qualification
  • Possess at least 12 years’ experience in a progressively responsible financial leadership role, with at least 5 years in a CFO position
  • Prior experience in food / consumer goods industry a plus.
  • Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to lead regional teams
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Experience in franchising would be an added advantage
  • Fundraising experience would be an added advantage
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
