We are currently working on a Business Transformation Programme, that will include the implementation of SAP (S/4 HANA) across the Group, and the set-up of the Global Business Services (GBS). The new GBS centre in North Dublin will manage a wide scope of Finance and Commercial process for the Group's Business Units.

Description

Reporting to the Head of Record to Report, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing VAT compliance and reporting, managing a successful transition and stabilization of Indirect Taxes into Global Business Service, along with supporting the implementation of SAP.

The Indirect Tax Manager will ensure a customer centric culture in the Dublin organization, forming highly collaborative relationship with the local country finance stakeholders in the international entities supported. The ideal candidate will be hands on, have attention to detail, strong communication skills, strong analytical skills, the ability to independently problem solve and have excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for all Indirect Tax Compliance (VAT, VIES, Intrastat etc.) obligations for Glen Dimplex entities;
  • Manage and support the transition of Indirect tax activities into Dublin;
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with key stakeholders across the Group;
  • Support implementation of SAP (S/4 HANA);
  • Responsibility for foreign VAT re-claims including preparation, filing, reporting and analysis of the foreign VAT re-claim process and liaising with external advisors;
  • Responsibility for ensuring consistency in the financial systems and reporting set-up for VAT;
  • Responsibility for ensuring the appropriate rate of VAT is applied to Glen Dimplex's products including the co-ordination of VAT rate ruling applications as required;
  • Manage the cross border movement of goods from a VAT and Customs perspective with the relevant internal departments;
  • Manage VAT implications of inter-company and domestic transactions;
  • Manage relationships with external Indirect Tax Advisors;
  • Support and manage Indirect Tax audits / enquires with local Tax Authorities;
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Indirect Tax matters;
  • Monitor, interpret and understand the compliance implications of Indirect Tax legislation and / or reporting changes as applicable;
  • Serve as the Indirect Tax lead on strategic project and system / process changes;
  • Research, understand and implement new tools and system to improve Indirect Tax compliance processes;
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to drive system and process improvements across Indirect taxes.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Tax adviser and / or Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an Indirect Tax role;
  • Experience of working in a multinational environment;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Indirect Tax compliance processes, from data extraction to return submission and experience of implementing any VAT real-time reporting. SAF-T filings in any EU countries a distinct advantage;
  • Strong understanding of EU VAT legislation, particularly in a cross-border environment desirable;
  • Understanding of SAP would be a distinct advantage;
  • Proven experience of reporting in a multi-national environment with the demonstrable ability to extract, analyse and review data and to make appropriate recommendations with minimal supervision / guidance;
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced team environment;
  • Knowledge of a second European language would be an advantage (e.g. German, French);
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management.

Location and Travel

North Dublin. Some travel possible required.
