A growing and highly successful accountancy practice, based in Brighton is searching for an experienced Mixed Tax, Compliance and Advisory Senior / Asst Manager to join their team in a role and firm providing technical progression and career development potential, with the scope for significant involvement in planning and advisory projects.

A leading and expanding firm of chartered accountants, based in Brighton. The role has come about through organic growth and planning for the future development of the firms successful tax department. The firm is in a growth and development phase and the incoming individual will carve a key, pivotal role and position within the firm's operations and progress technically with increasing client contact and involvement in advisory and planning project work.

Description

Joining the team in Brighton as Mixed Tax Senior / Assistant Manager, mouldable around the background and experience of the right person, you will undertake a mixed role initially, across both compliance and planning work, with the intention for work to become more advisory and planning focused, as you develop and progress within this firm and role. Therefore it will require a hands on approach, assisting on the compliance side across both personal and corporate tax when needed. However, you will also assist on wide ranging planning and advisory projects across both personal and corporate tax. The firm acts for wide ranging commercial clients typically into the millions in turnover, up to around £10 million on larger clients across varied sectors and industries.

Acting for the directors of these businesses, on the personal tax side planning work often revolves around IHT and with an increasing number of sales and exits more private client work is arising, advising around this. On the corporate tax side, planning work often revolves around reorganisations, sales and acquisitions, due diligence tax work, remuneration planning, some share scheme work and wider capital tax planning for SME businesses. Initially the role may have a 50/50 split between compliance and advisory with increasing advisory involvement and focus as you develop in the firm and role. You will carve a key position within this growing tax team and progress technically within your tax career.

Profile

The role will suit an ATT and/or CTA qualified or studying tax professional with a significant career background so far, focused in tax, ideally across both personal and corporate tax, although a specialism on either side is also equally of interest. Your background may be more compliance focused to date, or you may bring demonstrable experience working on planning and advisory project work alongside this. Most importantly you will be able to demonstrate the aptitude and ability to advise clients and learn the skills on the advisory side, with the right approach and attitude to progress and develop on this side. You may be an experienced Tax Senior or around Assistant Manager levels and be looking to join a firm where you can progress technically in an environment where you can take control of your career destiny within a less structured and flexible working environment.

Job Offer

£30,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience, background and level, negotiable, plus benefits.
