The incumbent is responsible to own and drive Client Tax & Reg Reporting processes end to end. Working closely with Operations / Tax Compliance (and other departments as needed) to define the reg reporting processes under compliance to all applicable regulations. Establish client notifications / reporting, related to Tax & Reg reporting. Work with IT / Other Teams in driving automation of controls / reporting processes. Face off Technology & other Business stakeholders in regulatory projects impacting Operations and act as key liaison, partner and co-ordinator for Ops to implement the changes. The role also includes delivering data remediation project / initiatives

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for operational tax & reg reporting matters
  • Overseeing communication with Tax Compliance and Operations team on operations tax / reg reporting matters
  • Support Operations management in the implementation of tax policies, procedures, controls in Operations (specifically US Qualified Intermediary (QI, FATCA, CRS etc.)
  • Implements control framework to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures and controls
  • Identify and resolve processing and control issues; manage tax & reg reporting related remediation exercise (where required)
  • Manages regulatory / tax authorities queries / ad-hoc requests; educate Operations and FO staff on relevant tax & reg reporting matters
  • Develop and maintain Project and Change Request (CR) portfolio and manage strategic projects to deliver the expected outcome
  • Work closely with Ops, IT and other Business stakeholders to fully understand the business needs and then craft solutions to automate the processes in a sustainable manner)
  • Own and drive the project inception (BRD, Business Paper, approvals etc.) and execution to successful completion to reduce / eliminate manual processes and / or enhance controls or Regulatory compliance
  • Work with the Business Units and IT on the implementation of the action plans including coordinating the User Acceptance Test (UAT) as required
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones and resource conflicts against project goals, local requirements and deliverables.
  • Ensure the Operations' interests are adequately represented and addressed within the projects by working closely with the Operations Teams and the relevant IT / Business Teams delivering the Programs


Qualifications
Requirements:
  • A degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Possession of MBA degree or related qualification is advantageous.
  • Certification in Tax / compliance areas is advantageous
  • Lean / Six Sigma Certification desirable
  • Exposure and experience in Private Banking as well as Wealth / Investment products is a must
  • At least five years of experience in Tax & Regulatory reporting / tax compliance / tax operations in a Bank is mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of QI, FATCA, CRS, etc. and any other EU financial transactions/products and related regulations is mandatory
  • Familiar with relevant rules and regulations, in particular those relating to local private banking business
  • Proficiency in of Microsoft applications is a must
  • Knowledge of client static data structures, Private Banking Systems, specifically Temenos system / CRM system is desirable and will be an advantage
  • Strong product knowledge i.e. equity, bonds, funds, derivatives etc. will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of / exposure to Process Automation (RPA) tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) etc. will be an advantage
