VAT / Indirect Tax Assistant - 6 Month FTC

This is 6 month fixed term contract with a leading Travel and Tourism business. The role is for an Indirect Tax / VAT assistant and you will support with UK VAT returns along with various adhoc Indirect tax projects. You will also act as a support function into the Accounts Payable team.

Description

You will be responsible for, but not restricted to:

• Preparing monthly UK VAT and APD returns to agreed time lines,

• Reconciliations to VAT GL Controls accounts,

• Preparing month-end journals as appropriate across various jurisdictions,

• Producing new and updating existing procedure notes for key processes and controls,

• Working closely with the Indirect Tax manager on defined projects,

• Supporting on overseas passenger tax and VAT returns during periods of absence,

• Looking at ways to improve current processes,

• Offering Support to Accounts Payable team

Profile

• Previous experience in an Indirect Tax capacity working on VAT returns
• Good inter personal skills and a credible individual with the ability to build strong cross functional relationships and communicate at all levels

• Organised, accurate and strong attention to detail

• Must be self-motivated and have a pro-active approach and be driven by results

• Must be able to adapt to a changing and evolving company structure and operating environment

• Must be a strong team player demonstrating a good standard of work and be disciplined and deadline conscious

Job Offer

£25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
