The role of Accountant has become available due to an internal promotion and is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to work within one of Oxfordshire's most exciting Businesses.

Description
Internal Reporting
- Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring all month-end duties are performed accurately and on-time
- Review of balance sheet reconciliations and controls
- Implement new monthly affiliate earnings review procedures
- Perform quarterly affiliate margin and profitability analysis, to improve understanding of the company's main revenue streams
- First point of contact to provide support to the Moscow Representative office and wider business on Russian matters
- Subject matter expert on financial topics affecting the affiliates:
- Pension accounting
- Corporation Tax
- R&D Tax Reform - understand implications and drive implementation of internal process changes to reflect Patent box and other recent R&D tax claim changes
- New UK GAAP
External Reporting
- Production of the statutory financial statements and supplementary disclosures
- Preparation of all relevant schedules for the external audit process
- Responsibility for liaison with external auditors for UK and IIL affiliates
- Act as key contact for Tax & Treasury, assisting in the production of affiliate contemporaneous documentation
- Manage the annual corporation tax return process, liaising with external tax advisors
Project Resource
Act as available resource for value-added activities such as:
- Contribution to Finance-led projects
- Provide value-added service to initiatives run by other functions e.g. prepare project economics, participate in Shareholder audits, risk assessments and self-assessments
- Training and coaching of business users relating to Finance processes and controls
- Ad hoc management reporting and analysis, supporting business decision-making, as required
Profile
- Have a high level of financial awareness with sustained exposure to an operational finance department
- A professionally qualified accountant
- Able to network effectively, and form working relationships with and influence non-Finance colleagues
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills will be required to approach problems and situations effectively
- Have good organisational and prioritising skills with the ability to deliver against deadlines
- Have good accuracy with a high level of attention to detail
- Be a self-motivated person, willing to get involved and collaborate in various teams
Systems experience should include:
- SAP
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- BW data warehouse
