Butler Rose is supporting a high growth, global FMCG business in Essex with ambitious plans to develop, they operate in the retail / distribution sector specialising within the entertainment market.

We are seeking to recruit a Qualified Management Accountant for a 8-9 month fixed term contract for their expanding team to take responsible for the full production of the monthly management pack, supervising month end close and the preparation of the financial statements and year end schedules. You will also drive continuous improvement and seek innovative solutions to complex issues across both the Accounting function and wider organisation.

Duties will include:
  • Producing the monthly management accounts pack including profit and loss, balance sheet and commentary to strict deadlines;
  • Variance analysis for both revenue and costs through liaison with Sales and Operations teams;
  • Maintain the balance sheet and the reconciliation of all accounts;
  • Production of intercompany reconciliation, agreement of charges and reporting;
  • Monitoring actual costs and margin against budgeted costs;
  • Supervise month end close, assisting with the completion of the invoicing and banking transactions, and posting relevant journals;
  • Provide information necessary for the operation of invoice financing facilities and compliance with bank covenants;
  • Preparation of budget and forecast schedules ready for board review;
  • Preparation of the Financial statements and year end schedules ready for audit;
  • Prepare the Cash flow reporting and forecasting weekly;
  • Assist with the Stock Management process;
  • Assist developing KPI reports with the Business Analyst including comprehensive sales, purchases and lead all aspects of stock accounting and reporting;
  • Dealing with VAT returns.


Candidates must be fully Qualified CIMA/ACCA, be an experienced Management Accountant, have worked for an international business and have operated in the FMCG, Manufacturing and/or Distribution sectors. You will be driven and focused with a can-do attitude; excellent communication skills and a track record of engagement with colleagues across the business. We are seeking someone who is commercially sound with a strong understanding of business process and control and who has the ability to listen and interpret information, but also challenge the status quo.
