Commercially-focused, you’ll be an experienced Accountant with the relevant professional qualifications (CIMA / ACCA / ACA). You’ll have a background in revenue business partnering and have extensive experience with financial products and propositions using both internal and external information to inform complex pricing decisions. You will have a broad and deep knowledge of the dynamics of capital, balance sheet risk, sources of funding and be comfortable challenging outside of your areas of expertise, and a proven track record of working very closely with non-finance stakeholders to strike the right balance between customer outcomes and commercial sustainability. You’ll have strong communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to present the finance perspective to senior stakeholders within the business, combined with strong analytical skills that will be able to understand complex data and issues quickly and be able to identify and explain the key issues to others.

Who we're looking for

As a minimum, you’ll:
• have strong problem solving and analytical skills with knowledge of margin, treasury, capital and credit modelling principles and a broad understanding of the retail financial services marketplace
• be someone who’s comfortable talking to people at all levels and getting their point across clearly in writing as you will be producing and delivering clear, insightful reports and presentations
• be as comfortable challenging senior stakeholders as you are working collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams across the society
• have a track record of generating innovative ideas and solutions to novel problems
• be a proven leader, able to motivate and develop your team.
• you’ll be organised and able to manage a portfolio of deliverables to high standards in a fast-paced environment
• be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)

What you'll be doing

Reporting into Finance & Efficiency but working closely with the Product & Propositions community you will be a key part of their senior decision making team. You’ll have regular contact with senior stakeholders up to and including Board level and will be acting as the Senior Financial Business Partner to Proposition Director(s). You will be leading a small team of qualified finance professionals and will be responsible for understanding and explaining financial performance to the business; helping the business define and understand the implications of pricing proposals, competitor strategies and market dynamics and working with stakeholders to deliver robust forecasts, including the Society Plan and external Stress Tests.
