Temporary Assistant Accountant
The role is varied and will include a combination of regular activities and ad-hoc projects, together with deputising for the management accountant in his absence. The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or equivalent, be familiar with the Microsoft suite of programs (Excel, Word etc) and be able to work as part of a team, but also comfortable in using their own initiative.
The main purpose of this role is to provide full accounts support and general administration to the management accounts team, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and professionalism at all times. There will be involvement in producing bank reconciliations, management accounts and monthly management information as well as managing utility contracts, administering credit cards etc. plus ad-hoc analysis projects and supporting the Management Accountant and Head of Finance.
Tasks include:
-Reconciliation of all Company bank accounts
-Weekly and monthly reconciliations
-Preparatory work for monthly management accounts including journals, accruals & cost allocations
-Bad debt review and provisions
-Utilities contract management - gas, electricity and telephones
-Processing branch petty cash returns
-Administration of monthly credit card statements
-Monthly management information such as KPI's and margin intelligence
-Manual invoices and credit notes
-Adhoc analysis projects
The successful candidate will be:
-Experienced Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant
- AAT or part AAT Qualified
-Experience working in a busy commercial organisation assisting in the production of management accounts, reviewing bad debts, invoicing, reconciliations, managing of utilities suppliers etc
-Will be flexible and cope well with change and have a genuine 'can do' attitude
Confident IT user with good ability Microsoft Excel
The role is full time, 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday- Friday
£10.57
