For the role of Group Finance Manager, the company are seeking a high calibre individual who can 'step up' to this level of role. This will suit someone with a few years within a finance team and is now undertaking exams for a relevant accounting qualification (CIMA etc) looking to step up into their first Group Finance Manager role. The role will involve 1 week of every month abroad in Europe.

The company is a biotech company with a focus on developing clinical-stage RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutics. RNAi technology can be used to treat a large number of diseases. This growing market, with huge potential for further ground-breaking technology to be developed and utilised.
The company is one of very few listed companies with the ability to modulate gene expression both up and down, which provides exciting potential for commercialisation.
Description
Successful candidates will be given duties which include:
- Bank and other key account reconciliations
- General bookkeeping and accountancy tasks
- Preparation of timely & accurate monthly management accounts
- Monthly TB preparation for the subsidiaries
- Calculating and posting journals
- Automation of intercompany calculations
- Assist with preparation of statutory accounts (UK and overseas)
- Assist with VAT returns
- Help liaise with the auditors
- Ad-hoc tasks to support the FC as required
Profile
Successful candidates will have a profile similar to:
- Strong knowledge with ERP systems required (Navision or SAP)
- Part-qualified accountant
- Relevant transactional understanding from a role on a finance team
- Excel skills required
- German Speaking would be of great benefit
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
- Demonstrated attention to detail, commitment to accuracy & adherence to deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective financial support to business/operational manager
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
