The role involves handling every aspect of the accounting functions for the group of companies and its international clients :

  •  Assisting in the firm’s accounting processes, right up to a trial balance level;
  • Posting payments and journal entries, accruals;
  • Maintaining the accounts for a portfolio of client companies;
  • Assisting with payroll calculation;
  • Assisting with end-of-year tax submissions and VAT returns.
  • Handling all reconciliations, including bank reconciliations;
  • Handling any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the Accounts Departmen
  • Management accounts
  • Monitoring of bank accounts and posting of bank transactions
  • Processing of payments
  • Updating and processing (credit card) transactions
  • Inter-company transfers and monthly reconciliation of inter-company balances
  • Ships ledger disbursements and invoicing
  • Internet banking
  • Coding of new clients accounts
  • Local regulatory filing
  • Other ad-hoc duties normally performed in an accounts department
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel to advanced level
  • Fluent in English and Maltese and able to communicate both in writing and orally
  • Well organised and quick to adopt as per company exigencies

Ideal candidate:

  • Liaise with auditors to be able to audit the accounts
  • Ability to reply to client queries
  • Liaise with clients to obtain the required signatures to sign off the accounts
  • Prepare schemes of distributions for audit purposes
  • Must be organised and assist in keeping a good filing system
  • Assist colleagues with queries
  • Compile lists and reports as required by the accounts department from time to time
  • Assist client with importation documents
