Basic Function

  • Manage the pre-approval process for receiving orders and turning them into Work Orders – no approval no work
  • Putting in place a manual shop floor control process to track the cost of production for each work order (card system) – timesheets, material allocation & usage
  • Manage the change request process for any alteration from the original work order and ensure work is not started until the approval is in place
  • Control the issuance of materials from inventory onto the floor

Key Performance Indicators

  • Project reporting for both Custom and Sample shop projects on work order progress, direct labour hours, material usage
  • Internal audit reports presenting project reviews on control sign offs for change requests etc
  • No missing purchase orders, work orders, requisition forms for projects, approvals etc

Duties

  • Manage all orders ensuring costs are controlled
  • Ensure all costs are supported with appropriate approval of documentation, conducting audits and reporting on key metrics for the areas
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure controls are understood and adhered to and trained on where necessary
  • Ad hoc related tasks where necessary

Competencies required to be effective in carrying out the job

  • Competencies
  • Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics
  • Qualified accountant/ Qualified by experience
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a costing role
