This is a new role following the appointment of a CFO with a very impressive track record. The aim is to set up a fully functioning shared service centre to support the group. This function is seen as vital to the future growth of the business.
The Financial Controller position will lead this function.
Client Details
My client is a rising star of the hospitality industry. Following recent impressive growth, the decision was made to prepare the business for it's next stage of expansion. Having brought in a new CFO, the aim is now to build a high calibre finance function.
Part of that new function will involve setting up a shared service centre to manage the central finance function of the group.
Description
This role is pivotal to the group going forward. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for heading up the shared service centre, overseeing all technical accounting and transactional teams. In time the role will develop to oversee both the treasury function and the systems accountant.
The focus of the role is to implement effective internal controls, to develop an efficient and effect transactional and to bring the production of statutory accounts in-house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production of statutory accounts for all legal entities
- Manage the audit process and present clean audit files
- Ensure timely submissions to Companies House
- Streamlining of transactional accounting process
- Recruit, develop and inspire a team of 15 finance professionals
- Build strong relationships with Finance Business Partners around the business
Profile
For the role of Financial Controller the successful candidate will be/have:
- A qualified accountant
- Proven ability to run a finance team
- A track record of team building
- Good systems and Excel experience
- Experience of producing statutory accounts
- Flexible, resilient and open to change
- The ability to work under pressure
