Reporting to the CFO this Cost Accountant will join the team based in the Denbighshire site with opportunities to travel to other UK/European plants. This exciting, newly created role within the accountancy team with a view to merge processes and support the costs of production. This is an excellent opportunity for a CIMA/ACCA studier to gain a high level of commercial exposure and really make this role their own!

Our client are a global manufacturing business, providing tailored components to some huge names in the automotive industry. They are seeking a Cost Accountant to join their accountancy team based in Denbighshire, offering fantastic routes to progression, commercial exposure and a view to travel while you work supporting some exciting new projects in Europe.

Description

Reporting to the CFO the Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Preparing reports in line with manufacturing performances and productions
  • Supporting with the controlling of costs across European sites
  • Analysing costs of productions and materials within manufacturing process (Automotive components)
  • Business partnering across production and plant management evaluating financial impacts including waste, scrap, labour
  • Management accounting
  • Delivering reports on variance analysis
  • Process improvements & implementations to improve accuracy and forecasting activities
  • Adhoc project work where required

Profile

The successful Cost Accountant will have:

  • Experience within a similar role
  • Manufacturing/automotive experience will be highly beneficial
  • Relevant degree, Finance, Economics, Business - desirable
  • Very self-motivated
  • Highly literate in Excel and ERP systems
  • Driven by business success
  • Knowledge of income statements and cash flow - essential
  • Very flexible approach to working
  • Ability to travel to European plants to support projects when required
