Assistant Accountant

Sewell Wallis are currently working with a great property management business based in Manchester City Centre. Our client is a forward thinking company that has a flexible and fun working culture based in a new and modern office. They operate across the UK and Europe and have seen steady growth over the past few years.

Due to an increase in work load, they are urgently seeking an Assistant Accountant/Accounts Assistant to join them on an initial 3 month contract. There is a highly possibility that this contract will be extended for the right person and a strong chance of a permanent opportunity should the company to continue to grow as it has done recently.

As the Assistant Accountant your key duties will include the following:-

•Billing rent/service charge to tenants and chasing arrears

•Posting supplier invoices and making weekly payment runs

•Updating bank activity on a daily basis

•Dealing with tenant/supplier queries

•Preparation of VAT Returns

•Preparation of monthly KPI reports

•Assist in calculation of annual service charge reconciliations

•Assist in preparation of quarterly management accounts (Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, and Balance Sheet statements)

You will ideally have just started your accountancy studies or be someone who is keen to begin them. You must be a confident character who is not afraid to ask questions and someone is naturally a quick learner with strong attention to detail. You must have experience working in a similar accounts position and be available to start straight away.
