A global shipping line based in Liverpool City Centre is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a busy Accounts function and if successful will be responsible for processing VAT Returns, journal postings, reconciliations and more. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at a reputable and expanding company with a friendly working environment.

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:
  • Posting journals, prepayments and accruals
  • Processing monthly and quarterly VAT Returns
  • Processing a high volume of inter-company reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations and postings
  • Monthly management financial reporting
  • Invoice processing and reporting assisting Purchase Ledger teams with coding
  • Assist with budget productions
  • Assist with forecasting
  • Credit Card and expenses processing and reconciling
  • Ad hoc Accounting tasks and projects when needed

Essential Requirements are:
  • Similar experience in a fast paced/high volume accounts setting
  • AAT Studier/Qualified (desireable)
  • Working knowledge and experience of VAT
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good Accountign system knowledge
