- Analyse markets for business opportunities, such as expansion, mergers or acquisitions etc.
- Direct investment/financing activities and develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the organization.
- Responsible for Financial relationship management with bankers, financial institutions and investors/clients.
- Responsible to develop and establish financial organizational and operational strategies, functional objectives, resolving problems and implementing change.
- Responsible to develop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, analysing organization financial operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and accumulating capital to fund expansion.
- Monitor and report financial performance by measuring and analysing results, initiate corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Managing data requests, collation and interpretation.
- Timely preparation and updates of basic financial information for all relevant documentation.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial due diligence reports.
- Assist with the collation and presentation of financial information at the due diligence stage.
- Supporting the team with in-depth commercial investigation into client businesses (market sentiment, industry specifics and competitor positioning).
- Lead advisory M&A including buy-side, sell-side and capital raising.
- Management of key transaction work streams including direct liaison with key client stakeholders and external vendors/bidders.
- Ensure financial and management information systems, policies and procedures are developed and implemented in order to ensure adequate controls are in place in line with OAG Group guidelines and local statutory requirements.
- Lead the development and delivery of finance working practices to ensure that this strategy is achieved in the short, medium and longer term (including strategic business initiatives, tax, treasury, accounting and reporting, risk management).
- Direct planning activities for the business and identify resource requirements to deliver the operational finance plan.
- Identify business/commercial priorities and ensure that finance activities are delivered in such a way as to add maximum value to the business.
- Drive implementation of global target operating model for Finance Develop people to ensure high performance individuals within the organization are continuously motivated, well-equipped with functional and leadership capabilities to successfully plan, develop and execute brand programmes.
- Build strong professional working relationships with external agencies.
- Proactively and consistently communicate finance strategy throughout business and team to ensure clarity of pf purpose and work within all departments.
- Bachelor Degree in related field or with professional accountancy qualification (CA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA)
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas industry or similar dynamic operating environment is advantage
- Commercial and strategic thinking
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Proven ability to manage external stakeholder to best effect
- A sound knowledge of Corporate financial practices
- A good understanding of oil & Gas business including operations, marketing
- Knowledge of software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SAP, BPC)
- Exposure to relevant transactions through Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity or Project Finance
- Well-developed understanding of business fundamentals: strategies, operating models, functions, macroeconomics
- Well-developed valuation, financial analysis and modelling skills, including the ability to develop a financial model from scratch Ability to structure a deliverable / storyboard / board papers for Board approval
- Knowledge of appropriate tools, techniques and intellectual capital to address transaction issues
- Strong presence, poise and appropriate level of confidence
- Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving
- Strong project management, coaching and communications skills
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management
