Your new role
You will be working as the Financial Accountant, reporting to the Management Accountant and Finance Controller, working within a finance function of 7 staff. You'll have two staff working beneath you and will be primarily responsible for the Financial Accountants whilst also contributing to the commercial financial duties of the business. The finance team is currently evolving and has the ambition to become an indispensable commercial resource to the business. You will be ensuring the core accounting tasks and cash-flow of the business is robust but also contribute to driving business performance with your financial reporting and analysis to aid key commercial decisions.
Duties will include:

• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping for all group companies to support monthly preparation of management accounts
• Bank reconciliations
• Group VAT return preparation
• P&L review
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Perform ad hoc financial and commercial analysis
• Identify and deliver process improvements & strengthen internal controls
• Support account managers in responding to customer payment and invoice queries
• Support statutory accounting & reporting and preparation for external audit

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a commercial and challenging mind and be motivated by delivering excellence. You should have an impressive set of academic results, studied in a top university achieving a 2.1 or above and be part qualified in either ACA, ACCA or CIMA. This is not your average role in your average business. Do not apply for this position if you aren't driven and equipped to become a high performing accountant in a leading company. You should have demonstrated clear progression in your career to date and be hungry to learn more and a quick pace.
