Director Internal Audit (f/m/d)
The holder of this demanding position assists those charged with governance in fulfilling their responsibilities and IFCO's executive management by providing a risk management framework and processes and independent assurance over the control environment.
Key Accountabilities:
Risk management and business continuity:
- Develop and oversee the group's risk management strategy, aligning risk management activities to support the delivery of business objectives
- Develop and maintain the group's risk register through discussion with regions and group personnel and report to the relevant group committees
- Annual review of the business continuity plans (including testing) to ensure they are designed to meet the business/technical requirements and are operating effectively.
Internal audit:
- Definition and implementation of an internal audit function for the newly separated IFCO group. This would include audit methodologies, work programmes, reporting protocols etc.
- Develop the annual risk based internal audit programme and present it to those charged with governance for approval.
- Liaise with other internal assurance functions and external assurance providers including the coordination of specialist internal audit resource as required (i.e co-source arrangements).
- Work with group, regional and local management to evaluate and implement pragmatic recommendations
- Monitoring and reporting on the implementation of internal audit recommendations
- Report to those charged with governance on the operating effectiveness of the group's internal control environment.
- Collaborate with external audit on internal control findings and scope of work.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the function
Furthermore you undertake any other duties including ad-hoc audits and projects that are within your skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.We expect:
- Master's degree in economics/finance or equivalent professional experience
- Recognised local/international finance and/or audit qualification or member of a recognised professional body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, IIA)
- 10 years or more of working experience in one of the big 4 audit companies and/or international group company
- Strong intellectual grasp of complex business environments and business processes
- High attention to detail without losing the big picture with the ability to multitask
- An ability to identify and articulate root causes, themes and systematic issues
- Experience using ERP applications (SAP preferred), advanced Excel proficiency and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
- Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility on all levels of the organization
- Assertive, but flexible leadership style paired with a hands-on mentality
- Excellent English
- Willingness to travel (50%)
