At Canon U.S.A. we are looking for a Sr. Accountant (Accountant, Sr.) to Maintain accounting records and journal entries, related schedules, and related reports. Will perform account analysis, serve as a project lead and support Divisions and other Canon companies. Will also provide technical support to IT and maintain strong internal controls.


– Support the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial close for Canon USA and various subsidiaries.
– Perform monthly account analysis including the review of?balance sheet and expense accounts to ensure that regional offices process transactions in a manner which is consistent with corporate accounting procedures
– Reviews, verifies, and reconciles inter–company activity, to ensure accuracy of various accounts, and follows–up with appropriate regional accounting personnel in order to resolve clerical or procedural errors
– Advises clerical accounting personnel in the regional office in order to resolve problems regarding certain procedures such as general ledger, inventory, or new department codes, in order to ensure accurate processing of accounting data
– Reviews cost accounting transactions and reports, in order to accurately track the cost of product inventory purchased from Canon Inc.
– Assists management with various special projects or analyses by gathering accounting data and/or financial information, in order to provide accurate information on which policy or other accounting decisions can be based
– Perform technical research for subsidiaries
– Provide cost accounting guidance
– Review current system accuracy, work with IT?Programmers to correct problems, design and implement system process changes / improvements
– Supervise and train staff on new assignments and monthly tasks
– Maintain internal controls as required by SOX and suggest control improvements
– Other Ad Hoc requests from Management


– Bachelor??s degree in Accounting and 4+ years of Accounting experience required
– Should be familiar with computerized accounting systems, and possess good verbal communication skills and strong computer skills
– Emphasis on inventory/cost accounting
