Senior Credit Controller

My client a growing Insurance business based in Basildon are looking to add to their credit function. As a business operating in multiple countries and markets they would love an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join them and help increase the efficiency of the department.

My client have recently gone through a period of exciting change and are growing. This has meant a restructure within finance and a drive to increase efficiency and improve processes withing the business.

As a result of these changes a new credit manager has been hired and is building a solid team around her. The business operate in the UK and multiple countries abroad. Whilst the ledger you'll be dealing with will predominantly involve UK business' there will be times were liaising with business' and colleagues abroad will be necessary.

Description

For the successful Senior Credit Controller, Some of the key duties will be:

• Credit control for a portfolio of brokers to ensure debt is collected within credit terms and record the reasons for not collecting the debt

• Managing and reconciliation of high priority broker accounts

• Contact all brokers on the Non Payment Report and update LS with actions, broker responses.

• Building of excellent broker relationships in order to resolve issues at the earliest opportunity

• Review and distribution of daily post

• Daily cashiering - broker and recovery cheque receipts processed

• Daily cashiering- broker and recovery electronic receipts processed

• Identify and resolve any broker receipts that have been paid to incorrect bank accounts.

• Production of daily claims payments both cheques and electronic bank transfers

• Production of weekly claims service provider electronic bank payments sending remittances to Service Providers

• Main operator of Check print, the automatic cheque signing system.

• Liaise with brokers, Claims team & Underwriting team to record, monitor and resolve all premiums and claims related queries.

• Participate in monthly Credit Control meetings with underwriters

• Produce paper monthly broker statements after month end close and post these to customers

• Assist with Landscape UAT on new releases

• Responsibility to contact banks with any query that may arise in the bank account and resolve and issues.
• Assist the Credit Control Manager with ad hoc duties as required to effectively maintain the smooth running of the department.

Profile

The ideal Senior Credit Controller Profile will be something similar to what follows:

• Credit control experience

• Studying toward Credit Management or Accountancy qualification desirable

• Insurance background desirable
• First class excel, outlook and word skills

• Enthusiastic and positive attitude

• Highly numerate

• Attention to detail

• Highly organised

• Ability to work under pressure and to monthly deadlines
