Description

As Group Financial Accountant you will provide technical accounting expertise and insight across the Group, from a statutory, treasury, and corporation tax reporting perspective to ensure that all submission deadlines are achieved, including monthly and quarterly consolidated reporting to group. Monthly board reporting (cash, balance sheet and capital adequacy), and annual statutory accounts.

People

1 Responsible for own continuous self-development, including relevant technical updates and latest market and financial trends

2 To attend seminars, meetings, conferences and training courses from time to time, as deemed relevant by the company

3 Sharing of technical knowledge with relevant team members and senior management

Customer

1 Completion of consolidation templates for GROUP monthly and quarterly reporting, and supporting with variance analysis and query resolution

2 Completion of quarterly and year-end audit schedules and liaison with KPMG for query resolution

3 Support GFRM with ad-hoc projects and technical queries as required, including tax & treasury initiatives and accounting for any future acquisitions

4 Liaising with Financial Accounting (balance sheet control, operational cashflow and HSBC account/facility maintenance, VAT, payroll, employer taxes, sales & purchase ledger) and Management Accounting to ensure the required inputs are available to derive cash and balance sheet forecasts/budgets

5 Representing team on working parties when technical accounting input is required e.g. capitalisation of development costs

6 Liaising with Regulatory Reporting Accountant/Risk to ensure relevant capital adequacy data inputs are submitted on timely basis via Gabriel

Financial

1 Cashflow reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting including board pack commentary

2 Consolidated balance sheet, working capital and capital adequacy monthly reporting for board pack, forecasting and budgeting

3 Support GFRM in calculating operational cashflow headroom to ensure effective monthly working capital management and efficient utilisation of funding lines

4 Ownership of capex tracker and monitoring process ensuring lease/buy decision is optimal

5 Via liaison with Group, support GFRM with corporate tax planning and compliance (with taxpartner support) to ensure current group losses are effectively utilised and future profit and cash impact is optimised at an entity level. Calculation of quarterly corporation tax payment.

Process

1 Preparation of annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP and group monthly & quarterly consol reporting templates under IND AS for listed parent

2 Assessment and documentation of financial control framework for key Financial Accounting processes

3 Maintenance of UK management recharge mechanism to ensure tax position is optimised. Reconciliation of inter-co transactions transfer pricing

4 Support GFRM with automation and streamlining of existing financial processes, controls and reporting mechanisms

5 Set up of HSBC client bank accounts and any associated SUN and Merchant IDs as required

Profile

Qualified Accountant

Ideally Practice trained (Big 4)

Experience of stat accounts production for consolidated group under UK GAAP

Relevant technical accounting experience to advise/report on new corporate initiatives (e.g. acquisition accounting, R&D capitalisation)

Cashflow reporting and forecasting

Balance sheet and working capital monthly reporting, budget/forecast
