Commercial Accountant

A highly successful media agency are currently recruiting for a Commercial Accountant to join their growing business on a permanent basis. The key responsibilities include:* Preparation of monthly management accounts. Deliver month end cost reports and analyse variances to forecast, budget and prior year.* Maintain control of the balance sheet. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, making sure that supporting evidence is filed and that reconciling items are cleared on a monthly basis.* Track delivery and costs of projects and reconcile project costs to budget. Work with production manager to ensure that month end cost of sales accrual is accurate.* Provide control over timesheet system and ensure actual project time is reconciled to job budgets. Communicate results to relevant account directors.* Support development of assistant accountant.* Assist with training of new staff in finance processes.* Assist the business with client budget preparation and review.* Ensure client and supplier contracts are maintained.* Assist in the review of business costs and the identification of potential cost savings.* VAT return analysis and other taxation analysis.* Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure processes surrounding control of company assets is carried out.* Primary contact for auditors* Assist the Financial Manager with forecasting, budgeting and ad hoc queries and projects.* Provide cover for and assist the Financial Manager.The successful candidate will have the following:- Studying towards ACCA/CIMA - Solid management accounting experience, preparing management reporting packs with variance analysis- Confident working with people at different levels inside and outside the business. - Experience of Accounting for a marketing/PR agency would be advantageous
