Salary: starting circa £20,000.00 per annum (£385 per week) depending on experience and qualifications

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week, full year (41 days holiday incl BH) 1 day a week to be used for studying

Responsible to: Finance Bursar

Job Start: Immediate

Our client is looking to appoint profession Trainee Accountant (Apprentice) with immediate start. This is a great opportunity to gain an accounting qualification while taking on increasing levels of responsibility. There is an opportunity for progression within a busy Finance Department.

ROLE
  • To prepare monthly/ quarterly reconciliations, incl. VAT returns
  • To prepare Cash Flow forecasts for donations
  • To agree and monitor the budgets for residential trips
  • Termly management accounts, monitoring expenditure on at least a monthly basis
  • To prepare fee income projections and fee bill reconciliations
  • Monthly cash flow forecasts
  • To collate annual Revenue and Capital Budgets
  • To support budget holders in preparation and monitoring of budgets
  • Monthly reconciliations of Gross Pay, FTE and salaries of staff complement
  • Reconciliation of Pension Costs and contributions
  • To prepare Staffing Budgets
  • To prepare schedules for the annual audits of the Statutory Accounts for the School and its subsidiaries
  • Any other tasks as required

PERSON
  • Minimum 18 months of work experience in finance role
  • Grade C/ above/equivalent in GCSE Maths
  • Grade C/above/equivalent in GCSE English
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Good verbal and oral communication skills and ability to form productive working relationships with colleagues
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative and prioritise

Desirable:
  • Holds AAT level 2 or 3 or related accounting qualifications
  • Experienced of working with SAGE 200 software
