Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Salary: £24.000- £26.000
Location: Cheltenham
Duration: Permanent
An excellent opportunity to work within an organisation with long standing traditions and heritage. Working at our client's Cheltenham office you will be able to commute to them from Gloucester, Stroud, Tewkesbury and the surrounding area.
In this Assistant Accountant role you will have the chance to become an integral part of the finance team and have valuable involvement by participating in strategic meetings with the financial management team. You will also:
- Look after the fixed assets register
- Help with budgeting and budget setting
- Take part in the preparation of management reports and accounts
- Raise invoices/purchase orders
- Provide support to the finance managers at month/year end
- Verify and process journals
- Bank reconciliations
- Ad-hoc duties when required
The above list is not exhaustive and you might need to support the financial team in peak/busy times as required.
To be successful for the role you will be an effective communicator, AAT qualified or working to towards a qualification. An advantage would be studying towards ACCA/CIMA or equivalent. You will have 2 years minimum of experience within a financial environment. Intermediate level of Excel (pivot tables/ v-lookups), professional attitude towards work and being responsive to change.
