Essar Oil (UK) Limited is a leading standalone UK-focused downstream energy company and has a strong UK market share (circa 16%). The Stanlow Oil Refinery in Ellesmere Port processes 9 million tonnes of crude oil and feedstock per year and is a major supplier in North-West England with customers including most of the major retail brands operated by the international oil companies and the hypermarkets, together with Manchester Airport and the region’s trains and buses.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our team on a 6 month fixed term contract, taking responsibility for all financial and management reporting for the business. This will include statutory audits, monthly and periodical reviews, and budget preparation and modelling including all Financial analytical reviews.
As an Assistant Financial Controller you will produce the UK monthly IFRS reporting pack and report to the group, will coordinate the auditing process for the company, oversee and manage the day to day management of Inventory Monetisation Transaction and will drive process improvements and automation of finance processes.
We are looking for an ACA/ACCA qualified Chartered Accountant, with strong analytical skills and working knowledge of IFRS. You will have hands on experience of audit processes and management accounting experience and as you will be working within a dynamic business environment strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle and resolve issues independently is essential.
