Financial Controller
Working in partnership with a reputable financial services organisation based in Central London who are looking for a Financial Controller to join their finance department. This role will be reporting directly to the CFO.
Key responsibilities
Financial Reporting
* Responsible for accurate and timely preparing and reporting individual and consolidated financial statements
* Ensuring compliance with IFRS, as well as oversight of Luxembourg GAAP and other local GAAP as it might be necessary
* Preparing and timely reporting Management accounts; including profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow
* Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported
* Creating regular reports including monthly and annually to identify results, trends and financial forecasts
* Coordinating and supervising the external audit of the financial statements of the group entities to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
* Suggesting updates and improvements for accounting systems in order to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the closing and reporting procedures with special focus in processes automation
Financial Planning
* Responsible for Capex & Opex management
* Managing financial budgets & forecasts
* Managing FX
* Validating commercial models
Financial Control
* Ensuring compliance with internal control policies within the Finance Department
* Responsible for the control of liabilities and financial risks
* Ensuring cost control across the business
* Ensuring client contract financial adherence & control
* Responsible for Order to Cash management
* Responsible for VAT control
Team leadership
* Responsible for managing team members in Finance Department in both London and Luxembourg to ensure all resource is utilised efficiently and operating smoothly
* Providing leadership and support to other team members and identifying areas for potential training and development
* Resolving daily issues as they arise
Candidate Profile
Essential Job Requirements and Skills
* Minimum of 8 years in a finance environment, with experience as a Financial Controller
* Accounting Qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA etc)
* Experience with IFRS
* Expertise in Excel and operating financial systems
* Experience in identifying opportunities and leading change management programs to streamline existing processes
* Highly numerate and analytical, with strong personal standards and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of output
* Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation
* Dynamic, proactive and with an ability to operate effectively as part of a small team
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and make pragmatic decisions to ensure deadlines are met
* Understanding of data privacy standards
Desirable Job Requirements and Skills
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX
* Experience with Luxembourg GAAP
