Elevation Accountancy and Finance are currently recruiting for a world leading manufacturing firm in their Head Office in Huddersfield. They are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.
As the Assistant Accountant, your core purpose will be to prepare weekly/monthly management information, prepare statutory returns and company budgets.
Reporting to the Finance Controller, your main duties will include but not be limited to;
• Prepare monthly management accounts including accruals, pre-payments and fixed asset management
• Provide monthly reporting with analysis to budget holders
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare annual statutory accounts and tax pack
• Prepare VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE and statistical returns
• Prepare information for annual audit
• Monthly commentary and variance analysis
• Budget planning
• Preparation of bank and cash reconciliations
• Daily postings completed to a timely manner
• Ad-hoc duties to support the team and Finance Controller
The ideal candidate will have;
• Completed or studying AAT/CIMA/ACCA
• Experience as a Management Accountant within the manufacturing sector
• Confident user of all Microsoft programmes
• Strong attention to detail with an ambitious drive to learn
