A leading independent accountancy practice currently requires an Assistant manager to join its Entrepreneurial Services team in Edinburgh

The Firm

The Firm provides professional services including audit, tax and specialist advisory services to business and private clients

The Role

?The main responsibility of the role will be to manage the compliance aspects of a mainly SME client base and to have managerial responsibility for a small team

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Client Manager for a portfolio of clients in Edinburgh demonstrating effective client relationship management, including attending client meetings;
  • Staff management responsibilities for a team of 5 staff in the Edinburgh office, including review of work prepared by all members of the team;
  • Management responsibilities in the operations and the flow of production within the department, ensuring firm-wide processes and procedures are consistently applied, communicating with wider ESD management group;
  • Identification and management of risk areas within the client base and department, escalating to Senior Management as appropriate;
  • Identification of business development and cross-selling opportunities for ESD and other service lines;
  • Business Development responsibilities to help grow client base within ESD Edinburgh;
  • Staff training and development.

The Person
  • A qualified accountant (CA,ACA,ACCA) with at least 2 years post qualified experience obtained within a Business Services/General Practice environment
  • Experience of managing a client portfolio
  • Experience of people management
  • Strong technical accountancy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
