A well-established accountancy practice based Bolton are looking for a Payroll Clerk to their growing team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that has an outstanding reputation!

Client Details

The accountancy practice have a number of offices, they offer employees the opportunity to develop their skills with them both professional and personally. The successful payroll clerk will be joining a team of 8 and will be liaising with clients and will be liaising with clients via phone and e-mail, processing payrolls and investigating and resolving queries.


Payroll Clerk duties include:

  • Managing client payrolls with multiple payroll processes
  • Setting up and processing pensions (auto-enrolment)
  • End to end payroll processing
  • Investigating and resolving queries
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Processing statutory payments, advising employees on payments
  • Processing SSP, SMP, sick pay, holiday pay, bonus deductions
  • Tax and NI calculations
  • Using SAGE payroll to import/export data, draw reports and generate payslips
  • Reconciling payrolls for month and year end
  • Ensuring payroll legislation is fully adhered to
  • Compiling and sending weekly RTI information


The successful candidate will be/have:

  • Previous experience of working in payroll
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Possess an excellent telephone manner
  • Be available immediately or at short notice
