As a Financial Controller, you will report directly to the Finance Director and provide strategic financial advice to the Management Board. Further to this, you will be responsible for the management of the finance function which will include both part-qualified and non-qualified individuals.
The business is a leading SME within its field. Based in Coventry, they manufacture their products on-site and supply to a range of Clients across the United Kingdom.
You will be tasked with developing the finance team to ensure the function is hitting the businesses strategic goals. Therefore, it will be your responsibility to ensure that all financial processes operate effectively so their will be elements of process improvement involved in the job.
Carry out regular process audits to identify weaknesses in financial processes to ensure improvement and efficiency of reporting.
Manage relationships with auditors and tax/pension advisors.
Ensure compliance with all UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
On top of overseeing all financial processes, you will need to support senior management in delivering a long term business strategy which will include cost estimates for new products, product analysis and tracking company investment.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and will have overseen a small finance team in the past.
It is essential that you are fully qualified (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
Extensive knowledge of double entry accounting.
Up to date knowledge of HMRC legislation.
Track record of effectively delivering process improvements and identifying cost savings.
Experience in using Sage 50.
Worked alongside other areas of the business and shown an ability to business partner with senior managers.
£40,000 - £50,000 basic salary.
