Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Location: Nottinghamshire
Salary: Between £24,000 and £26,000 per annum
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant who is ready for the next step in their career.
In this role, you will be reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager and be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of the entities in scope and to ensure that robust procedures and controls are in place.
Responsibilities include:
*
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation;
*
Month-end;
*
Processing inter-company transactions and ensuring monthly agreement and settlement of inter-company balances;
*
Internal Controls Compliance;
*
Fixed Assets including maintaining fixed asset register and capital expenditure tracking, ensuring depreciation is in accordance with the Accounting Manual, ensuring correct asset categorisation and completing physical asset verification visits at sites;
*
Year End;
*
Submitting weekly cash collection figures and analysis of bank balances;
*
Preparing and submitting VAT returns;
*
Supporting Management Accounts team with P&L reports, budget and forecasting information;
*
Support Accounts Payable team with Vendor Master setup for segregation of duties;
*
Other duties as required
The Candidate
To be successful in this role you will:
*
Have previous experience as an Assistant Accountant
*
Have minimum 1-year experience with Fixed Assets;
*
Be studying towards CIMA/ACCA/AAT or equivalent qualification;
*
High level of numeracy skills and be IT literate, including at least intermediate Excel skills;
*
Knowledge of JD Edwards, Vision and IBM Cognos Controller or TM1 (desirable)
*
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines;
*
Strong process and financial control discipline.
The Package

25 days’ holiday + bank holidays;

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm;

Study support towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA;
*
