Financial Reporting Accountant (Financial Services) Our client has recently expanded its Cork offices on the North Side of the City. A leading International Fund Administration company with offices throughout Europe, the company is currently experiencing a significant period of growth and as a result currently have a superb opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to join the team as Financial Reporting Accountant. In doing this role Advanced Excel is essential and you will be expected to provide accurate well presented templates to be used across the Group. The role will require the preparation of accounting and reporting templates, driven by GAAP and industry guidelines. Occasional client specific report templates will alsoneed to be produced.  Duties: Execute the duties of the role diligently and professionally Act in accordance with the company code of conduct Create and maintain template accounts for use across the Group Use technology to drive efficiencies into the accounting function Train staff across the Group on the use of templates and accounting solutions Develop effective working relationships Review of work produced by junior team members Promote and support the aims and help to deliver the strategy of the Group Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accounting templates, driven by GAAP and industry guidelines combined with generic fund documentation and relevant regulatory requirements. Prepare template carried interest, waterfall and other calculations. Propose and prepare other accountings efficiencies that are built around the use of technology. Carry out ad hoc accounting projects requiring technology based assistance. Consider and develop addition controls and processes on monitoring bookkeeping. Liaise with auditors on GAAP templates and audit efficiencies. Follow Company procedure at all times. Work closely with the Operational Development Team. Proactively monitor accounting and reporting guidelines. Assist with the training, coaching and development of staff. Promote excellent relationships with clients of the Group. High level of self review. Motivate and empower other accountants by building their capabilities. Deputise if required during Line Manager Absences. Ensure monitoring and reporting of efficiencies generated. Communicate any issues of concern to the Line Manager. The following qualities/skills will be expected: Prior practical accounting experience in a financial institution or professional services firm. Good GAAP knowledge, focusing primarily on FRS 102 and IFRS. Prior experience in creating template accounts. Good communication. Strong IT/system skills. Consistently work accurately under pressure. Previous experience and knowledge of accounting, private equity administration or investment banking. Sound understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and rules. Strong team member.
