A mid-tier accountancy practice, based in Glasgow city centre, currently requires an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team.

The Role

Work within an accounting team and alongside your peers, you will undertake assignments across a varied portfolio of clients. You will undertake a broad role across the accounting function to ensure that the delivery of client commitments are met.

You will have at least one years' experience in a similar accounting role, with strong communication skills and the ability to build strong working relations both within the firm and externally with clients. You will have excellent presentation and organisational skills together with an ability to understand and respond promptly to clients' needs.

  • To work as part of a team servicing a broad ranging portfolio of clients
  • Prepare accounts using various cloud accounting software applications
  • To undertake client engagements where so directed ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Process credit card transactions from the business
  • Analyse and resolve all outstanding adjustments and liaise with relevant teams to ensure clearance
  • Record and maintain Client and Business records in line with Company Procedure
  • Liaise with key business area contacts to ensure communication channels are open & effective
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and ensure it is up to date for month end
  • Deal with Internal/External auditors as and when required

On Offer

The salary for this role will be from £18-20k, depending on experience.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
  • At least 1 years' experience in an accounting role within an accounts practice
  • Knowledge of accounting packages such as Iris, Quickbooks Online, Xero and Sage
  • Additional experience in areas such as company secretarial would be desirable
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadlines and priorities
  • To be able to work in a deadline driven environment individually and as part of a team
