Working with a small team of Accountants in a medical device manufacturing company, your job will include: Manage month-end close activities including booking journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciling accounts, maintaining the fixed asset registrar and submitting revenue returns (VAT, VIES, PAYE, PRSI ,etc) Prepare year-end statutory accounts in accordance with regulatory requirements. Assist with monthly board packs and presentations, company secretarial activities and complete CSO surveys Assist with budgets and forecast activities, with full responsibility for monitoring cash flows and controlling AP and AR Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, highlighting business issues & recommending cost control actions Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis - Support operations and manufacturing teams with cost analysis, project costs and profitability analysis, cost reduction reporting, variance analysis and scenario/business analysis activities Manage R&D Tax Credits and Grant applications Ensure all accounting and reporting is audit and tax compliant. Liaise with external auditors regarding the statutory financial audit. Monitor, maintain and improve internal controls, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements. Deal with queries from stakeholders including group, inter-company, auditors, revenue and insurance brokers Requirements: This job will suit a self-motivated and driven Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who has at least 2 years' experience as a Financial Accountant or Management Accountant in industry. It will allow you to build your accounting skills-set in the supporting environment of this expanding medical device company in Galway.
