Description
To achieve the operational finance objectives of the Financial Accounting team ensuring: -
The provision of clear direction and strong leadership and effectiveness amongst the Financial Accounting team.
The effective management, motivation, development and performance management of team members.
The delivery, monitoring and development of operational excellence in terms of compliance, statutory control, effective risk management, efficiency, customer service and value for money.
To ensure that the organisations operations, policies and procedures meet all statutory and operational requirements.
Effective monitoring and reporting of financial information and producing recommendations for future developments.
To ensure strong financial accounting and the production of management accounts and statutory accounts for the organisation and its subsidiary companies.
To act as an effective member of the Support Management team.
To authorise invoices and process BACS payments.
To set up and maintain the account structures.
To reconcile allocated balance sheet control accounts and review reconciliations prepared by the Financial Accounting team.
To regularly review and report on the trial balance.
To assist the Financial Planning and Analysis Accountant with detail on monthly budgetary reviews.
To maintain and update the fixed asset register.
To review capital expenditure to ensure in line with the organisations policy and accounting standards.
To prepare the statutory accounts for the organisation and its subsidiary and consolidate the results for Council.
To prepare the audit files for the organisation and its subsidiaries and act as the main point of contact for auditors.
To prepare the management accounts for the organisation and its subsidiary, preparing for review on a quarterly basis.
Prepare other financial information as required for meetings.
To prepare and submit VAT returns and take responsibility for correct VAT accounting.
To review and manage corporation tax returns for the organisation and its subsidiary.
Profile
The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager position:
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience managing a small team
- Technically competent and able to run year end and liaise with auditors.

By joining the charity as Finance Manager, you'll receive:
- Basic salary of £50,000 - £55,000 (dep. on experience.)
