Assistant / Management Accountant - North Kent - Accounting and Finance - Commerce and Industry

Description

  • Working together with the Senior Management Accountant to timely distribute the monthly management accounts and the implementation of agreed improvements to processes within the Finance department.

  • Ownership of the Balance Sheet & Fixed Asset Register
  • Assist in the preparation and process of all monthly journals, including Prepayments, Accruals, Wage journals & Depreciation,
  • Ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reconciling items cleared on a monthly basis in order to maintain accurate records,
  • Reviewing the Purchase Order log and making appropriate PO/Invoice accruals,
  • Monthly reconciliation of Bank transactions,
  • Preparing VAT returns and submissions,
  • Liaise with and support of the Sales and Purchase ledger functions to ensure timely and accurate postings to the general ledger,
  • Liaising with other Group companies regarding Inter-company balances,
  • Assist with the production of the monthly management accounts, to the Directors and Sector Managers to support the running and control of a successful business
  • Assist in the preparation of the Year-end audit and Statutory accounts,
  • To prepare and process weekly payments via online banking.
  • Lodgement and reconciliation of sales invoices onto the Invoice Financing facility,
  • To maintain and manage the daily cash flow spread sheet (where necessary),
  • Continued assessment of current processes / controls to identify areas that may need improvement to add value to the business and implement the agreed changes,
  • Maintain timely and consistent communication with different offices
  • Review financial information within short timescales and identify problems, underlying causes and trends,
  • To assist with general office duties including filing, telephone calls etc
  • Ad hoc duties and projects as required by Line Manager
