Description

Key responsibilities for the Credit Control Team Leader:

  • To provide daily supervision to the Credit Control Team, helping them to resolve escalated Customer collection issues.
  • Maintain and implement cash targets, taking a lead role in reviewing debt and ageing debt with the Credit Control Team.
  • To assist in driving the performance of the Credit Control Team and identify and maintain KPI information.
  • Ongoing communication (verbally and written) to Customer Services, regarding outstanding queries impacting collection targets.
    • Responsibility to ensure all reasonable steps are taken to prevent any even that could cause health, safety or environmental harm.
    • To identify required changes in policies, procedures and processes in line with changing business needs and best practice.

    • Ensure the credit limits recommended by the Credit Control Teams are reviewed, using credit checking agencies to approve credit account applications and review existing credit limits.

    • Ensure prompt payment of the company's debtor ledger and allocate staff to achieve departmental objectives.

    • Train team members in the company's systems, procedures and policies relevant to Credit Control.

    • Train and mentor team members looking to continually assist with their development and assist with identification and retention of future talent. Ensuring all training material is current and when necessary updated.

    • Provide timely and accurate management information assisting the Finance Transactional Service Manager with month end close.

    • Assist the Finance Transactional manager with the running of the function.

    • Ad-hoc tasks as and when required by Line Manager

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and skill appropriate to the functional area you are assigned to work in.
