An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a globally renowned, FCA regulated management consultancy as a Consultant - Hedge Accounting. The client is expanding and this opportunity allows the relevant candidate to join a market leading team. They are looking for an experienced candidate who will work across different sector teams and provide clients with derivatives valuation and accounting support.

Description

Key Responsibilities of the Consultant - Hedge Accounting:

  • Preparing financial modelling and analysis

  • Advising clients on derivatives valuation and providing hedge accounting support to them and their stakeholders (mainly external auditors)

  • Liaison with other team members supporting their advisory engagements where necessary, both in Europe and in the USA

  • Client responsibility (leading client relationship management and delivery of output) for a portfolio of existing clients

  • Preparing and presenting pitches to win new clients, producing client briefing notes and analysis

  • Initiate and participate in external marketing and thought leadership activities (publishing of relevant articles/analysis)

Profile

Experience required of the Consultant - Hedge Accounting:

  • Experience and understanding of the above duties.

  • Preferably practical experience with OTC derivatives and hedge accountancy.

  • Practical experience with FRS102, IAS39/IFRS9, IFRS7 and good knowledge of derivatives under USGaap gained in either a treasury, debt advisory or corporate finance environment

  • Hedge Accounting experience preferably in Real Estate or Corporate Treasury

  • Experience of financial instruments

  • General understanding of financial markets and OTC derivatives in particular

Skill Required:

  • Communication skills - the confidence to liaise with senior level executives through client pitches and mandate execution

  • Excellent client relationship management skills

  • Strong modelling skills - derivatives valuation, use of commercial software

  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • User of Bloomberg, SuperDerivatives, Reval

  • Excellent project management, presentation and organisational skills

  • Proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Job Offer

Looking to pay around £55,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.
