In this Assistant Accountant role, the successful candidate will carry out AP, AR and cash tasks as well as further responsibilities as an assistant accountant including cost analysis, budgeting and forecasting and KPI analysis. This role offers training and a generous salary and flexible working arrangements and there is an opportunity to develop the role quite substantially over the next few months and years.

Description

As an assistant accountant your responsibilities will include transactional clerical duties as well as more advanced month end duties.

Transactional Responsibilities:

  • Xero input and reporting.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices.

  • Reconciliation off income and expenditure.

  • Review of all expenditure including analysis of invoices and supplier contracts to ensure adherence to all arrangements in place.

  • Support in preparation of bi weekly / monthly payment runs, with a view to managing.

  • Credit control, Debt reports and recovery of outstanding debts.

Further Responsibilities:

  • Report profit and loss.

  • Support all budgeting and bookkeeping procedures.

  • Track stock suppliers and materials.

  • Submit weekly and monthly reports.

  • Cost analysis - identification and follow up of potential efficiencies.

  • Analysis of actuals versus KPI's.

  • Support in the financial creation of a new CRM.

Profile

A successful accounts assistant will:

  • have a minimum of 1 year accounts experience
  • good excel skills
  • Xero experience (preferable)
  • Ideally the candidate will also:

    • be studying ACCA/CIMA
    • be flexible with working arrangements and responsibilities
