Albany based organization has an open role for a Payroll Accountant.

Responsibilities will be to:
  • Reporting to Finance, you coordinate with Human Resources on matters related to payroll and benefits
  • Manage the payroll function providing support and process improvements
  • Participate in the month end accounting closing process including all related GL entries.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of the bi–weekly payroll
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports
  • Responsible for payroll compliance, ensuring all legal and statutory payroll–related requirements are met
  • Prepare and file 401K, flexible spending, and other benefit withholdings and deductions
  • Maintain payroll accounting policies and procedures, update and recommend changes
  • Responsible for / participate in applicable annual audits
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with a CPP certification preferred
  • 5 years of experience in payroll and accounting
  • Experience with Paychex preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of multi–state payroll regulatory and tax compliance
