There's currently an opening for a full–time Senior Accountant to bring their knowledge and expertise to a growing company in the Real Estate – Other industry in the HUNTINGTON STATION, New York area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is based in Huntington Station, New York with a company in the Real Estate – Other field. Key responsibilities – Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations – Coordinate Ad–hoc projects as necessary – Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external – Offer involvement in various department–wide initiatives – Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) – Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary – Assemble monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting – Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP – Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
– Must have excellent time management skills – Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) – Solid understanding of account reconciliation – Account analysis experience – Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR) – Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity – Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines – Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required – Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued – Experience in SOX control execution/documentation – Strong analytical capabilities and discernment – 1+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience – Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities – BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred – Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills – Experience with ERP systems – Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast–paced environment
