The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a?Business Analyst II?. This position is part of the our Securities & Valuations Office?located in New York City. Our organization strives every day to support the public good and make a difference! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Defines and Scopes Business Area. Assists in identifying potential risks associated with a new project or a change to an existing system.
  • Monitors deliverables and deadlines to ensure the requirements plan is properly executed.
  • Gathers requirements, which includes determining how and where to find these requirements.
  • Provides analysis and feedback on the appropriateness of the requirements in meeting the goal of the project. Documents business requirements as assigned.
  • Takes a leadership role in ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, working effectively with other analysts and technical staff.
  • Works closely with business area to recommend a solution. Works with development staff in design, including flow diagrams, GUI interfaces, and report design.
  • Verifies through testing that applications being developed have met documented business requirements.
  • Clearly and consistently reports the status of a project to appropriate staff.
  • Expresses findings and recommendations?clearly to differing levels of management, both verbally and in writing.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with?the entire development life cycle and Agile; starting with the analysis, design, construction, and implementation.?
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access,?PowerPoint, VISIO)
  • Demonstrates the ability of gathering, analyzing and validating requirements through interviews, observation, facilitation, and other proven business analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to negotiate successful solutions.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, and customer service skills,
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills, including excellent team building skills.

Bachelor?s degree (BA) from four–year college or university and three years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
