St Joseph's Hospice in Hackney has been serving the people of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham since 1904. The modern Hospice is proud of its roots in the community and of the founding vision of the Religious Sisters of Charity who remain closely supportive of the work we do.
We are seeking to appoint a senior finance professional with a demonstrable ability to lead a large team and provide commercially focused finance advice to what is a complex organisation with several different revenue streams.
You will have impeccable attention to detail, a high level of technical competence and a natural flair for communicating with a non–financial audience of all levels, as well as an outstanding track record of leading finance functions in commercial environments in any economic sector. Any experience of working in a service delivery organisation where contract margins are tight is desirable.
Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance will provide financial and strategic leadership to the Hospice by working closely with the CEO, Trustees and fellow Directors and providing high–quality financial information and advice.
The Finance Director will lead on strategic financial planning for the Hospice, ensuring all financial controls and statutory obligations are met in a timely fashion and to the satisfaction of the external auditors.
