Our client has a permanent vacancy for a part qualified Financial Accountant. The role is full time, 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

THE JOB

* Ensure that all allocated Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled, with balances supported and justified

* Provide support to Accounting Manager to ensure all statutory returns (including Tax, VAT, ATOL & ABTA), obligations and liabilities are properly reflected in the accounts and submitted in a timely manner

* Contribute to the development of the Finance function and take ownership of processes and reconciliations to help ensure that the accounting function proactively supports the company to achieve its objectives

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS

* Assist with the preparation, calculation, presentation and payment of VAT

* Maintaining and controlling company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations eg. stock and reviews of intangible assets

* Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and Group internal compliance procedures including supporting internal audits

* Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations and recommend improvements

* Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual ATOL and ABTA reporting

* Assist in the annual statutory audit supporting requests from auditors and the Financial Accounting Manager

* Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for all entities

* Assist in the preparation and presentation of analysis required for the completion of annual corporation tax returns and calculations for group

* Support the Financial Accounting Manager in the timely submission and preparation of annual payroll returns

* Responsible for liaising with group companies to agree intercompany balances and resolve any differences for reporting in HFM

REQUIREMENTS

* Part Qualified accountant

* Proven technical ability

* Advanced Excel

* Understanding of modern management information systems

* Ability to manage change

* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management

* Flexibility to cope with multiple often changing priorities along with strong commercial awareness
