The Role Responsibilities

Business
• The role is responsible for ensuring Operational Risks associated with Country Finance are captured & mitigating actions are in-place to preserve Financial controls during the transition states and offshoring migrations for the ~50 distinct Country Finance teams as they transition from their legacy processes, systems, and organisation structures to the new strategic operating model.
• The role needs to understand the internal controls within a Country Finance team to be more supportive and responsive to the Country businesses they control and support.

Processes
• The role needs to ensure operational risks are monitored and mitigating controls are in place as Country Finance teams adopt global standard processes, and more importantly, collaborate with GFS and the Global Process Owners & Managers to maintain control in the core Finance processes.
• Ensuring countries fully adopt the global standard processes and support from GFS is essential for Aspire to execute the migrations from the legacy systems and operating models to the target.
• Process must lead in advance of the systems, and driving this agenda is essential for this role.

People & Talent
• This role needs to ensure adequate operational risk awareness is established within teams impacted by change events, through briefing sessions on Operational Risk and Finance control policies. Further, the role is responsible for providing the appropriate training and up-skilling of the Finance staff through this lifecycle.

Risk Management
• This role needs to ensure that the Operational Risks associated with Country Finance are captured and addressed in the solution designs for the Aspire platforms and processes. Further, the role needs to ensure that the heightened risks associated with the changes being introduced by the programme, particularly in transition states, is well understood by Risk Owners and key stakeholders, and that the mitigating actions are in-place to preserve the controls of the function during and after the lifecycle.

• Lead the Country Operational Risk & Control team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Degree level education or equivalent
• Qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting (MBA, CPA, ACCA, CA)

• Highly proficient computer skills, including Excel and ability to manage and transform data into information
• Minimum 15+ years of experience Finance Operations within the Financial Services Industry
• Extensive experience in finance and accounting system/ platform transformation, particularly in operational risk and finance controls
• Expert knowledge in financial products, bank financial reporting (management and regulatory), operational process improvement, technology and systems architecture
• Proven experience in people and change management
• Proven experience working across multiple geographies in rapidly changing environment
• Ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at once within an extremely deadline driven environment
• Ability to demonstrate the Bank's values in achieving objectives
